Supt. Woods Announces Re-election BidJanuary 23, 2021 It has been one of my greatest honors to serve Georgia as your State School Superintendent over the past six years. That the Lord would bless a small town, South Georgia teacher with this undertaking is extremely humbling.
During this time, real results for Georgia’s students and teachers have been attained. This includes the largest decrease in high-stakes testing in our state’s history, record high graduation rates, beating the nation academically, and most recently, giving our teachers and support staff a well-deserved $1,000 bonus for their heroic efforts during the pandemic. Since March, we have faced enormous challenges surrounding the COVID 19 virus. I have worked extremely hard to provide hope and substantive support for our students, teachers, and parents during the height of the pandemic. In keeping with the future in mind, I also provided a positive vision for re-imagining public education. A vision that will continue to prepare our students for life and allow our teachers to close their doors and teach. |
REAL RESULTS.

I run for State School Superintendent with a clear reputation of fighting for our students and a clear record of getting real results. Promises made, promises kept.
You have my full commitment — my actions will continue to be driven by convictions over consultants. Principles over poll numbers. Results over rhetoric. It has been a true honor serving as your State School Superintendent and being your voice. Together, we can continue to build on the great work and accomplishments — expanding opportunities for students, supporting our educators, staying centered on the classroom, tackling testing, and creating common sense solutions. Once I took office, I vowed to never forget what it is like to be a teacher and it is that educator’s heart that I carry with me every day. A heart that keeps the best interest of our children at the front of every decision made. I humbly ask you to continue this journey with me and support my campaign. |
PROVEN LEADERSHIP.
