Received the following message in my inbox this week. I will continue to push for common sense reforms and will keep teachers and students at the focus of my efforts.
Dear Mr. Woods,
I heard you and your opponent speak last week at a conference last week. I wanted to let you know that you have my vote in this year's election, despite the fact that I am a lifelong Democrat and you are probably the only Republican I am voting for this year.
As a teacher, I have been happy with the direction in which the Department has been moving under your leadership, and I appreciate the fact that you actually have a background in education (I honestly believe that should be a requirement for the position).
