Opening the Doors to Student Success
Education is about increasing opportunities for students. Working with state and local partners, Superintendent Woods has pushed for more fine arts and career opportunities for all Georgia’s students -- opportunities that were scaled back or eliminated during the Great Recession. Under Woods’ leadership, the GaDOE has opened doors for students through a strong Career, Technical, Agricultural Education (CTAE) program in every school and the Move On When Ready (MOWR) program where students can earn college credit while in high school.
Superintendent Woods has brought the vision of a holistic approach to education to the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) -- one that provides high quality, personalized and relevant options to each and every child.
